The presidents of SDP, HNS, HSU, Labour Party, Indigenous Croatian Peasants Party and the Zagorje Party signed a coalition agreement today in Varaždin. “We have introduced order and cleaned up the mess in 2011, and Croatia should continue in the same direction”, said the prime minister and the head of SDP Zoran Milanović after the agreement was signed. Milanović said that “they are looking at problems right in the eye” and are “solving them”. “No one is above the law anymore. We have introduced order”, said the SDP president, adding that Croatia is growing in all areas and that the growth has been achieved in difficult conditions.
“Our coalition is for Croatia which is making progress”, said Vesna Pusić, adding that all indicators show that Croatia is moving in the right direction. “Are we going to choose Croatia which is growing or the one that falls in fear, threats and intolerance when it comes to civil liberties”, asked Vesna Pusić.
In addition to the representatives of the parties, some members of the HDZ youth from Varaždin also came to the ceremony, carrying banners which read “100 billion kuna of new debt” and “100,000 emigrants”. On the other hand, the messages printed on the lectern that was used by the coalition leaders read “Croatia is growing” and “No turning back”.
The agreement was signed in the Varaždin Business Zone, in the factory hall of the Oprema Intercom company, which produces refrigeration cabinets for professional customers. The business zone was chosen due to the results of the local economy. The owners are the Varaždin County, the City of Varaždin and the Municipality of Trnovec.
