ZAGREB, June 21, 2018 – Resolving the issue of the war missing is the most important civilisation and humanitarian issue for Serbs and Croats, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said in Belgrade on Wednesday on the second anniversary of the Subotica Declaration, and called on Serbs to respect the Croat community as it was equal.
On the occasion of the anniversary, Vučić met with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović’s special envoy for missing persons Ivica Vrkić, underlining that “Serbian state authorities are doing everything to trace the missing and shed light on their fate.”
Vrkić presented new initiatives to help in resolving the issue of the war missing, Vučić’s office said in a press release.
Vučić said he would appoint a special envoy to cooperate with the state commission for the missing.
He invited Grabar-Kitarović to “visit Serbia as soon as possible” and wished that “Serbia and Croatia resolve outstanding issues and advance relations and cooperation in future to the benefit of both nations.”
