ZAGREB, April 7, 2018 – Senior Croatian state officials on Saturday extended their best wishes to the Christian faithful in Croatia who celebrate Easter according to the old Julian calendar.
“The Easter message of optimism and hope gives us an encouragement throughout the year to work on strengthening dialogue, tolerance and mutual understanding for the benefit of the society in which we live,” Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said in his message. “May this greatest Christian holiday bring you an abundance of peace, joy and wellbeing,” he added.
Greeting the Christian Orthodox faithful with their traditional greeting “Christ is risen!”, President Grabar-Kitarović wrote: “May the spiritual atmosphere of Easter encourage us to strengthen the faith, spread unity and charity for the benefit of all people in our homeland in order to build a society of solidarity and mutual understanding.”
“I wish to all the Christian Orthodox believers that the celebration of Christ’s resurrection fills them with faith, joy, love and hope and that they spend it in the peace of family union, in the spirit of sharing and commitment to their loved ones, in good health and happiness,” Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković said in his message.
