As the Slovenian border scandal rumbles on, TCN’s Renate Rakic offers a view from the street in Ljubljana.
I can’t talk in the name of all Slovene citizens but I hope I’m not the only one who shares a similar opinion about all this never-ending arbitrage debacle.
By now we are used to scandals on a daily basis, so this one doesn’t shock or surpraise us anymore. We became indifferent to it all. We see this as yet another distraction from the real issues that needs urgent attention.
I have to say I’m very disappointed that two neighbourly countries cannot decide on a sensible solution agreeable for both sides. Instead of solving the problems they create new ones.
Latest public opinion research in Slovenia shows that the majority thinks Croatia is better and more competent at their work, or at least their spy service is. Slovenia’s so-called experts turned out like a bunch of amateurs and an embarrasment to the nation. As our spies are obviously vacationing on some secluded Croatian island, probably without a mobile signal…
We are fed up and tired from it all and just want it to be over already so we can finally move on. Let’s not forget all this debacle costs both countries a lot of money they could use for more important things especcially in this time of crisis.
I’m positive that yet another scandal will not change or affect good relations that so many poeple who live all along the border have.
I guess this saga unfortunately continues…
A Reminder:
It’s just my opinion man.
