The former Prime Minister has no political ambitions, for now…
As Poslovni Dnevnik reports on the 13th of September, 2017, popular TV journalist Zoran Šprajc said that Zoran Milanović did not accept his invitation to discuss the subject of his departure from politics a year ago.
”Zoran Milanović definitely has no political ambitions and is satisfied with his job as a consultant” Zoran Šprajc has revealed. His words were recounted in his RTL Direct broadcast.
“He thanked me for the call and said he didn’t want to propagate speculation about his political ambitions, which, for now, he says he definitely doesn’t have, but he didn’t say he’d never have them again. He is happy with his job as a consultant earning more than [he did] in politics and says he’s fulfilled for the time being” stated Šprajc.
Otherwise, Zoran Milanović served as the Prime Minister of Croatia from December 2011 until the very beginning of 2016. The 50 year old graduated from the Zagreb Faculty of Law and began his political career working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, eventually serving as counselor at the Croatian Mission to the European Union from 1996 to 1999.
He later joined the Social Democratic Party and earned his Masters degree in EU Law in Brussels. He then took the position of assistant to the Foreign Minister of Croatia for political multilateral affairs in 2003. He became the chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) from 2007 until November 2016, and aside from serving as Prime Minister, Milanović was also the Leader of the Opposition twice, until Davor Bernardić succeeded him as SDP’s chairman.
