March the 16th, 2024 – Hailed as the largest investment in Croatian tourism, the Poreč Pical project amounts to an eye-watering sum of 139 million euros and will ensure year-round tourism in that popular Istrian city.

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Josipa Ban writes, a contract was recently signed between the huge Croatian tourism company Valamar and the construction company Kamgrad on the continuation of the construction of the Poreč Pical project. The works surrounding this resort are otherwise part of the largest single investment in Croatian tourism, worth 139 million euros. Hotel Pical will be a 5* complex and will be open all year round.

The completion of these huge works is scheduled for the end of 2025, and pre-sales, as well as the employment and training of future employees will begin this year. Hotel Pical will employ around 600 individuals in permanent positions of high value and will provide an excellent opportunity for career development in the hotel industry.

“Hotel Pical used to be one of the best hotels on the entire Croatian Adriatic. I’m proud to say that we’re continuing with this investment, which will bring high-quality year-round tourism to Poreč, provide new quality jobs and once again place Poreč and Istria among the leading European tourist destinations.” said Željko Kukurin, president of the Valamar Management Board.

The Poreč Pical project will mark a change for the Istrian peninsula’s tourism

As it stands, the future Hotel Pical 5* will boast 513 accommodation units, 10 themed restaurants and bars, a wellness centre, its own beaches and beach clubs, outdoor and indoor swimming pools and facilities for various types of holidays. For families, Pical will offer the Maro World educational playroom on an area spanning more than 1,200 m2, there will also be Maro clubs, children’s playgrounds and an entertainment programme intended for families. The hotel’s offer will also include plenty of content for those who prefer a more active holiday; such as the new Parenzana Bike Centre, outdoor running tracks, water sports and an indoor 25-metre-long swimming pool.

Pical beach, all of the accompanying sports and entertainment facilities, the indoor swimming pool, promenades and other recreational facilities will be open to the general public, meaning that guests, visitors and local residents will be able to use them. The Pical zone will become the most attractive tourist zone in Croatia and will present one of the best congress centres with a multifunctional hall boasting a capacity of up to 1,200 participants.

The reliable Kamgrad is responsible

“With 30 years of experience and successful business operations under its belt, with a special emphasis on tourism projects and over 850 employees, Kamgrad will realise this project in accordance with the contract and to the satisfaction of both contracting parties,” said Dragutin Kamenski, the owner and procurator of Kamgrad d.o.o., of the Poreč Pical project.
