September the 5th, 2026 – Several men, some of whom are citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have been removed from Croatia after glorifying war criminal Ratko Mladić in the Dubrovnik area.
Police officers working for the Dubrovnik-Neretva Police Administration have now conducted criminal investigations that ran from the 28th of August to the 2nd of September 2026. Morski reports that those investigations were launched against four citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who were temporarily in Croatia (aged 31, 30, 25 and 25) and against one 35-year-old Croatian citizen.
All of the men were arrested for publishing content which glorified and supported Ratko Mladić. The police conducted the criminal investigations after receiving several reports from members of the public. It was established that the men, on publicly accessible social media profiles, had published pictures, symbols, songs and texts with which they paid tribute to and expressed gratitude to Mladić.

Three of the men who are citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina have already been brought before the Municipal Court in Dubrovnik, where they were non-finally found guilty and issued with monetary fines. After that, their residence and work permits will be revoked and their short-term stay in Croatia terminated, with a three-month ban on entry into the country.
Proceedings for expulsion from the European Economic Area with a two-year entry ban have also been initiated against them; the ban will take effect after the judgement becomes final. The fourth foreign national, as well as the Croatian citizen, will also be brought before the Municipal Court in Dubrovnik.
