Tereza Mrdeža will challenge Ana Konjuh in today’s quarterfinal match of the WTA Bol Open.
It is a perfect setup for a weekend of great tennis in Bol. On June 3, 2016, two Croatian players will meet in the quarterfinal match, at the Central Court of the Bluesun Tennis Center. This means that the home support will be present at the tournament throughout the weekend, and that is the dream of all tournament directors.
Tereza Mrdeža made it to the quarterfinals of the WTA Bol Open with a win over Belgian opponent Ysaline Bonaventure 6-3, 6-3 yesterday, while Ana Konjuh got better of Turkey’s Ypek Soylu 6-2, 6-1.
Konjuh was delighted with the win, and pleased with the conditions, which improved after a rainy day on Wednesday; “Conditions were excellent today, and the court was quick, which suited me. I hope to keep playing at this level. I know Tereza really well, and I hope for a great match, which will please the crowd.”
Split – born, but playing for New Zealand, Marina Eraković has qualified to the quarterfinals with the win against Sachia Vickery, 6-4, 6-4. She is happy to be in Dalmatia; “It is nice to be here, to speak the Croatian language, and most importantly, it is great to get the wins. I hope to reach the finals”, Eraković said after the match.
Marina Eraković will play her match against Mandy Minella, the player from Luxemburg at 2 pm while Ana Konjuh and Tereza Mrdeža will hit the central court at 5.30 pm. In other quarterfinals matches, Japanese Nao Hibino will play Switzerland’s Stefanie Voegele, and Slovenian Polona Hercog will meet Slovakia’s Kristina Kucova.
