Croatian Davis Cup Team Win the Doubles Match

Ivan Dodig and Franko Škugor got the second point for Croatia against Belgium

Belgian coach tried to strengthen his team with nominating his best player, David Goffin to join Ruben Bemelmans for the doubles match, but Belgians put up the fight only in the opening set of the match on March 5, 2016. Dodig and Škugor won in straight sets, 7-6, 6.3, 6-1.

Croatia is now in the lead 2-1, and needs just one more win on Sunday’s single matches. As Marin Čilić was resting on day two, and his opponent, David Goffin played 8 sets in two days, Croatian player is a strong favorite to clinch the winning point.

Belgian team will hope for Goffin to win, and then Borna Čorić and Kimmer Coppejans would play the deciding match. The first match between Čilić and Goffin is to be played on Sunday, March 6, at 14.00 CET.
