Croatian Shot-Putter Filip Mihaljević Wins The World Championship Bronze!

Young athlete won his first senior medal in the Shot put event of 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championship in Portland, USA

Great news for Croatian athletics, as youngster Filip Mihaljević won his first senior medal in Portland, USA on March 19. 2016. He got to the third place of 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championship in the fifth series, with 20,87 m throw. New Zealand’s Tomas Walsh got the gold, and Romania’s Andrei Gag finished second.

This is his first senior, and first World medal, as he has won two European medals in junior categories. It is also a great news for Croatian Athletic Team in preparation for Rio Olympics this summer.
