Zagreb is hosting one of the biggest youth sports events in Europe on September 10.
Organised by the European Triathlon Union (ETU), Junior European Cup in Triathlon will take place in Zagreb’s Jarun Lake this Sunday, on September 10. A press conference for the media was held today, zagreb.info reports on September 6, 2017.

This is the second time that Zagreb is hosting this important event. Teams will come to Zagreb on September 8, familiarise themselves with the location on September 9, and then the races will take place on September 10, as follows:
- 9:00 Open race women start
- 10:30 Open race men start
- 12:30 Junior women start
- 14:00 Junior men start
- 15:30 Medal Ceremony European Junior Cup
- 15:45 Youth men start
- 15:48 Youth women start
- 16:30 Medal ceremony Open and Youth race
- 12:00 -16:30 Pasta party
More than 400 young athletes from around Europe will be competing in Zagreb to get a chance to qualify for the Youth Olympic Games (YOG), including talented young athletes from Croatia, such as Luka Dumančić, Fran Tisaj and Zara Baković (Zrinski Triathlon Club), and Paola Horvat and Filip Filošević (Swibir Triathlon Club) from Zagreb.

The next Summer YOG which will take place in Buenos Aires in 2018, and the next Winter YOG will take place in Lausanne in 2020.
