Croatian karate competitors have won eight medals at the 19th Balkan championship, four of them gold
Gold medals were won by Alessandra Hasani (-55 kg), Enes Garibović (-75 kg), Ivan Kvesić (-84 kg) and the male team in fights, Jutarnji List reported on March 27, 2017.
Alessandra Hasani defeated in the finals of the under 55 kg category Dajana Crnoglavac from Bosnia-Herzegovina with 6-0. Enes Garibović overpowered in the final fight of the under 75 kg category Bulgarian Stefan Petkov with 3-0. In the final fight of the under 84 kg category Ivan Kvesić clinched the title with a victory over Anes Čong of Bosnia-Herzegovina with 2-0.
Successful was also the male team in fights (Garibović, Ivan and Anđelo Kvesić, Martinac, Mrvičić, Šurbek, Živković), better than Serbia in the finals with 3-0.
Bronze medals were won by Sara Siddiqui (-55 kg), Luka Kondić (-60 kg), and the female team in fights (Čatlak, Hasani, Marić, Tubić).
A total of 302 competitors from 11 nations took part, while Croatia took second place in the total count of medals.
