Five Young Croats Participating in Optimist World Championship in Thailand

Five young competitive sailors from Croatia are on their way to Thailand, where they will participate in the Optimist World Championship from July 13 – 21, 2017.

The accomplished young lads are to take part both in Optimist Individual World Championship and the Optimist Team Racing World Championship. Their names are Edo Fike, Tin Fike, Mario Buba Pulek, Emanuel Skočibušić and Roko Stipanović, and they’re accompanied by their mentors Tina Mihelić and Marko Zuban, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on July 11, 2017.

This year, the OWC will be held at the Royal Varuna Yacht Club in the Thai city of Pattaya. According to the official website of the International Optimist Dinghy Association, the 2017 OWC will see a record-breaking number of competitors, as Pattaya is to welcome 280 sailors from 62 countries. Fingers crossed for the Croatian sailors!
