FC Split players walked out of a training session
FC Split is repeatedly claimed to be one of the steadiest clubs in Croatian football, often praised by CFF officials for its way of managing the team, however, things are not as peachy as they seem. On Saturday, March 5, 2016, its players refused to train and warned the club officials that it will happen again if they do not get their salaries soon.
This is not the first event of such nature in FC Split, and with club owners, Žužul brothers, claiming they arranged the most expensive transfer in the history of national Croatian league when they sold Marko Rog to Dinamo last summer for a reported fee of 5 million Euro, it is a bit of a surprise.
Players decided to continue their work today, and will play the national league game scheduled for Monday, but demanded their debt be settled soon, or they will go on strike again.
