The Spanish El Mundo Deportivo daily claims Croatian footballer Darijo Srna has still not made up his mind whether he wants to leave Donjeck and continue his career in Barcelona, where he will be making a lot less money…
The 34-year-old former captain of the Croatian national football team is high on the wish list of the Catalonia club which is trying this winter to find an experienced right winger to boost competition within the team and at the same time let loose Aleix Vidal who did not find his place on Camp Nou, Tportal reported on January 2, 2017.
But the offer sent to Srna has not been overly generous and the El Mundo Deportivo claims this has created doubt for the Croatian defender. He is not certain whether Primera would be financially interesting for him.
“He has still not decided whether to accept the offer or not. On one hand the numbers are much smaller than what he makes in Shakhtar, but on the other it is a chance to wear the Barcelona jersey and he knows this may be his last chance in his career,” the daily writes.
Srna is in regular contact with the sports director Roberto Fernandez, but the final decision has not been made. He is aware how great it would be to play with names such as Messi, Neymar and Suarez, but in Ukraine he has legendary status and an excellent salary.
In any case, he has a month to decide.
