UEFA Donates €200,000 to Zagreb

For weeks after the magnitude 5.5 tremor, the HNS collected data on the damage to the football infrastructure, which was reported by a dozen clubs and organisations.

The UEFA Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee considered the HNS appeal and decided to donate €200,000 to the HNS for the reconstruction of the infrastructure. The HNS will give the money to the clubs and organisations which reported the damage. UEFA donates the money from its natural disaster fund.

UEFA will also assist areas in Sisak-Moslavina County struck by a magnitude 6.2 earthquake in December, donating money to the Croatian Red Cross. The HNS will also make a donation to the county football federation for the reconstruction of the football infrastructure. On that occasion a fundraising match will be played by Croatia’s and Slovenia’s football greats. A donation will also be made by the Slovenian Football Federation.
