September the 26th, 2025 – Thompson appears set to perform in Osijek this November, with two dates having been mentioned thus far, but with no actual confirmation as yet.
As Novi list writes, following on from two truly spectacular concerts – the one held at the Zagreb Hippodrome on July the 5th and the one which took place in Sinj a month later – Marko Perković Thompson is coming to Osijek.
According to currently unofficial information from the SiB portal, the two Thompson concerts will be held at the Gradski vrt hall in Osijek, with November the 21st and 22nd currently those being considered. It is however worth bearing in mind that Thompson’s management has not yet officially confirmed the Osijek performances.
The incredible concert which stunned the crowds back in early July at the Zagreb Hippodrome was held in front of half a million people, according to the organisers. Just shy of one month later down in Sinj on August 4th, the much loved Croatian patriotic singer also performed in front of 150,000 visitors.
Thompson is a Croatian war veteran who initially became inspired to write songs during his time defending the country during the Homeland War. His success really began to ramp up in around 2002, when his first major tour took place following the release of his first album entitled E, moj narode.
In his long career which grew from the very humble beginnings of his songs depicting the defence of his home village of Čavoglave, he has attracted as much controversy as he has adoration from across the board.
Many foreign media outlets brand him nationalistic are are critical of a lot of the content in his music. Here in Croatia, however, the overarching view is of Thompson as a figure who unites the wider public and revives a sense of pride in the country across the generations.
