March the 29th, 2025 – Toplice Lipik is making its most significant turn towards health tourism yet as it undergoes an ambitious transformation.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, The kick-off conference of a large project entitled “The reconstruction of the Fontana building in Toplice Lipik into a hotel for health tourism” was recently held, marking the beginning of a significant investment in the development of health tourism. At the conference, contracts were signed with the contractor, the company “Tekton construction d.o.o.”, and with expert supervision, officially entering the implementation phase of the project, according to Plusportal.
The project leader, Toplice Lipik – Special Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation, secured 12.77 million euros in grants through the Call for Grants “Regional Diversification and Specialisation of Croatian Tourism through Investments in the Development of High-Added Value Tourism Products – GROUP 3”. This investment will enable the transformation of the Fontana building into a modern hotel, strengthening the facility’s position as a destination for year-round health tourism in continental Croatia.
Goran Pušćenik, the director of Toplice Lipik, emphasised the importance of this exciting project: “This is the biggest step forward for the facility in the direction of health tourism thus far. By reconstructing Fontana, we are creating the proper prerequisites for increasing our accommodation capacities and significantly improving the quality of the services we offer. The signing of the contract symbolises the beginning of creation not only for our institution, but for the city and the county as well,”
The Toplice Lipik health tourism project is expected to be a catalyst for the further development of this otherwise chronically overlooked region. The primary aim is to attract more tourists and strengthen economic opportunities, all while preserving the tradition of Toplice Lipik as a famous health resort.
