From 6th – 7th May, 2017, a Green Network of Activists, known by the ‘Recycled Estate’, will host the first convention of ‘Building with Natural Materials’ at their eco-social centre for permaculture and sustainable living in the village of Vukomerić.
The convention will be held over the weekend of the 6th – 7th May in their village Vukomerić where Recycled Estate is based – a mere 40mins drive from the lively Capital of Zagreb. The program will be split between the village common house and the ‘Recycled Estate’.
There will be rich program with many experienced practitioners in building with natural materials from all over Croatia and surrounding region. Topics will cover straw-bale houses – including many models and techniques with this building material, green roofs and walls, traditional techniques such as stone-walls and wooden construction houses, clay as a building material, rocket stove ovens and biochar as a natural alternative to heating systems.
Next to the conference there will be an open fair with natural products from food to handcrafts, tools and machines. For Saturday night, there will be a pizza party and craft beer on offer for those attending the ‘Concert in the Woods’ by Tribal Jam Orchestra and DJ M.I.L.E.
