More good news for British tourists wanting to visit Croatia next summer.

In the latest round of good news for British tourists planning on visiting the Dalmtian coast and islands of Croatia, British Airways has announced it is doubling its flight schedule from London Heathrow to Split for the 2016 season, reports Aerocroatia on October 22, 2015.

The British flagship carrier, which reintroduced the route this year with two flights a week, has expanded its offer after a successful season, and will now offer four flights a week to the Dalmatian capital, starting on May 1, 2015.

The increase in flights mirrors the confidence of other airlines, with easyJet recently announcing a significant increase in its services from the UK and Germany, both in terms of more flights and earlier starting dates in the season.

Split Airport has seen a significant rise in airlines flying into the Dalmatian capital in recent years, with more than 80 European cities connected in 2015. This has been a major contributing factor to the rise of Split as a tourism destination. In order to meet the demand, Croatia’s Transport Minister recently announced that work on a new terminal at Split Airport would begin next Spring.
