A hotel inspired by industrial design with a cozy atmosphere. This is how the interior of the former Arcotel Allegra hotel in Branimir Center will look like after it soon becomes a four star hotel and a member of the Hilton Group under the name “Canopy by Hilton”. This will be only the second European destination for the Hilton’s eclectic Canopy brand, which is characterized by merging internationally-established standards and local design. Reykjavik is the only other European city with such a hotel, reports Večernji List on October 24, 2018.
Informality in both design and services will be the main feature of the hotel that should open its door in the following days. “The whole concept of the hotel, from design to services, is based on the local neighborhood. There will be a feeling similar to old plants which used to operate in this part of the city, like Union and Kraš,” said the hotel representatives. Even the menus will be inspired by local products and they will be traditionally Croatian, while guests will be welcomed in their rooms by one of Croatia’s most recognizable products, Kraš’s candy “505 s Crtom”. The design of the hotel was done by the Franić and Šekoranja studio, Hilton-accredited designers.
“Since the hotel is located near the epicenter of Zagreb’s street art, the entire interior will be marked by various elements of Zagreb’s urban features”, said the hotel management.
While common areas such as bars and lobbies will be decorated with the so-called upscale lifestyle look, combining seemingly incompatible features, rooms will be minimalistic and simple, with no mass-produced furniture.
“Everything is designer made, nothing is done in mass production, even the mattresses are unique,” said Canopy, which will offer to its guests 150 rooms. Despite being part of a large group with strict rules about design, the Canopy hotel at the Branimir Centre will be unique, precisely because it will be, as they say, the most Zagreb-like hotel in the city. In order for visitors to experience the capital in the best possible way, they will be able to use the Canopy bikes to tour the city.
After Canopy, Zagreb will get another hotel from the group, the Hilton Garden Inn, which is being constructed near the Green Gold Centre.
