Celebrating one of Hvar’s five UNESCO heritages from August 19, 2017 – the Festival of the Mediterranean Diet.
We all know that the Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest in the world, but did you know that Hvar’s Mediterranean diet was declared at UNESCO intangible heritage in 2013? Combined with the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Stari Grad Plain, the Za Krizen Easter procession, the agave lace of the Benedictine nuns in Hvar Town, and the klapa singing of southern Dalmatia, Hvar has the most UNESCO heritage of any island in the world.
