easyJet’s rapid expansion in the Croatian market continues, with seven more routes added and a million seats for sale in 2017, reports Ex-YuAviation on December 13, 2016.
They are already rivalling the national carrier Croatia Airlines in terms of passenger numbers, and the easyJet love affair with Croatia is showing no signs of abating, as the low-cost carrier has announced seven new routes for 2017, which will take the number of seats available to over one million. There will be a 23% increase in capacity over an already strong 2016 offer.
Included in the new routes is a first connection to Zadar for the airline, to Milan.
After focusing its attention on Dalmatian airports, easyJet is slowly increasing its presence in Istria, and Pula will benefit from two new routes, from Bristol and Berlin, while the Pearl of the Adriatic continues to attract new routes – with Belfast, Basel, Manchester and Naples added to an already busy Dubrovnik schedule for the airline.
easyJet’s Senior Route Manager, Dimitris Schoinas, said, “We are pleased to be announcing a significant investment in Croatia making nearly one million seats available to and from the country in 2017. We launch seven new routes and the brand new network point of Zadar. The new flights will offer more choice to European tourists to spend their holidays in the beautiful seaside resorts of Croatia, as well as to Croatian passengers to connect to Europe”. He added, “I am sure the new flights to Zadar, where we expect to carry over 8.000 passengers in the first summer of operations, will soon prove popular with Italian holidaymakers”.
