There have been lots of rumours, but here is the first official word on the newest island hopping option on the Dalmatian coast. UberBOAT, as introduced by… UberBOAT.
SPLIT, CROATIA, JUNE 12, 2017 — Uber today announced the introduction of its UberBOAT service in Croatia. Launching from June 26th, the on-demand service will enhance transportation for tourists across the Croatian coastline, allowing Uber users to request a speedboat at the tap of a button through the Uber app. UberBOAT in Croatia is the first time UberBOAT will be offered as an ongoing mobility option for locals and tourists.
At launch, UberBOAT will offer two separate services. The primary service will offer on demand point to point transportation from Split or Divulje (Split Airport) to Hvar or vice versa at a flat fare of €352, or riders can opt for a larger XL boat (up to 12 passengers) at a fixed fare of €440.
The second option will give riders the opportunity to take an adventure (whole or half day day boat rental) to nearby islands. This service will be offered from Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik. For the adventure option, price is determined based on mileage and time accordingly. A full-day adventure fare on average will be approximately €980 onwards.
Riders determine their itinerary, and the UberBOAT stays with them all day, whether they’re visiting the area’s renowned blue caves, swimming, or hopping from island to island. With this service, the boat ride ends where the trip originated from.
Both options will provide much needed mobility options for locals and tourists who will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Croatian coast, coupled with the convenience they’ve come to expect from Uber. Riders will be able to use the , which will allow them split the cost of the boat with fellow riders with the tap of a button.
Davor Tremac, General Manager of Uber in Croatia and Southeast Europe said:
Uber is all about being able to push a button and get a ride and we are really excited to be taking this to the next level. UberBOAT will offer locals and tourists a new way of exploring and traveling around the Croatian coast by providing a unique yet reliable and straightforward adventure to the islands around Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik.
