Harvesting Lavender on Croatia’s Premier Island of Hvar

October 25, 2023 – Harvesting lavender on Croatia’s premier island of Hvar – is there a better reason to get up at 04:30?

A lavender field in bloom is on of the most beautiful – and aromatic things Mother Nature has given us.

And for the best lavender in Croatia, head to the island of Hvar.

Not only does Hvar have its very own lavender festival each summer, but there is also a magical field on top of the island, with 300 perfectly arranged lavender bushes that have been calling me to visit in early July each year.

So strong is the call that I even got up at 04:30 to make the harvest, as it is already too hot by 07:00.
