New Hvar Hotel Jewel as Hotel Sirena Upgrades and Reinvents itself

Paul Bradbury

December 22, 2025 – The Suncani Hvar Hotels investment in its portfolio continues – meet the new-look Hotel Sirena in a quiet and private bay near Hvar Town.

These are good times for Hvar Town, arguably Croatia’s most elite island destination, and a destination consistently named as one of the most beautiful in Europe, an egalitarian destination from the humble backpacker to the owner of superyachts. It has managed to shed its image of excess partying, as well as changing the profile of its visitors slowly over the years, with the coveted American market now the biggest visitors in terms of overnights, tourist numbers and spend. And all this before the new direct flight from New York to Split, making Hvar accessible from the Big Apple in just 10 hours, including speedboat transfer. Never has there been a better year to visit from North America.

An upgrade in guest profile also requires suitable accommodation to match the need, and Suncani Hvar Hotels, the biggest employer on the island, are continuing to invest and upgrade. The entire hotel portfolio was overhauled in 2006 when ORCO took over the company, upgrading several hotels from 2-star to 4-star. 2019 saw the first 5-star heritage hotel on the island, as Hotel Palace was upgraded from two stars to the 5-star luxury Palace Elisabeth hvar heritage hotel, which this year was awarded 2 Michelin Keys.

As reported recently, Hotel Amfora – the popular family hotel with the most rooms – has also undergone an internal renovation recently (you can learn more here), but the big news for the 2026 season is the complete overhaul of Hotel Sirena, which sits in a jewel of a location in a private bay about 2km from the centre of town. For guests looking for tranquillity, luxury, spectacular views, and access to Hvar Town, there can be few better options.

Mediterranean elegance is expressed not only through the hotel’s surroundings but also through a design-driven atmosphere, inspired by natural earthy, beige-light tones, woven textures, stone and wood, local materials and handcrafted ceramics, echoing Croatia’s heritage and quiet luxury.

The 154 rooms include 18 suites, and there are plenty of facilities in-house to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay for couples. These include Exclusive dining service, Beach bar and restaurant (all day dining), Patisserie, Gym, Outdoor massage, Open-air yoga deck, Pool and sunbathing area, Pebble beach in front of the hotel, Complimentary sunbeds, and a Mediterranean garden. Pets are allowed.

The new-look Hotel Sirena will open for business in early 2026, and there is a special pre-opening rate, with 10% off for early booking – more details here. As someone who has been following the Hvar scene for years, I am delighted by this new investment. It almost feels like a new hotel for the town with this quality upgrade from its previous 2-star existence.

I have a feeling that 2026 is going to be an epic year for Hvar tourism. Why not get in early with your reservation for next summer? For more details of all Suncani Hvar Hotels and their current offers, check out the official website.
