December 1, 2025 – With another successful season complete, the investment in Hvar hotels continues, with a new look for guests in the flagship Suncani Hvar family hotel, Hotel Amfora.

It has been another good year for Hvar Town, as well as its hotels. Tourism was up, the coveted American market continued to increase market share, and the destination was featured in a number of international polls of the most beautiful islands in the world. As with the destination, so too the hotels, which also enjoyed an excellent season, as well as some important international recognition.

None more so than the Michelin recognition of Hvar Town’s premier luxury hotel, Hotel Palace Elisabeth, hvar heritage hotel, the first 5-star heritage on a Croatian island, which was recently awarded two Michelin keys, a new global standard in hospitality, awarded by the Michelin Guide on its 125th anniversary. Only 10 were awarded Michelin Keys, including Palace Elisabeth, which received two keys for its commitment to quality, authenticity and guest experience.

Hvar hotels have been undergoing a process of constant upgrade since 2006, when the ORCO Group took over the predominantly 2-star portfolio and made major investments to bring the hotels in line with the quality of Croatia’s premier island. Hotel Palace Elisabeth, for example, was completely revamped from the 2-star Hotel Palace back in 2019.
The latest refurbishment announced centres on the largest hotel in the portfolio, Hotel Amfora, famous for its cascading pools, stunning views of the Pakleni Islands and premier beach club and wedding venue at the Bonj les Bains 1930s colonnade in front of the hotel.

The changes include a redesigned room interior, fully modernised bathrooms, as well as a welcoming new lobby and bar. Palettes of classical warm cream and brown tones, together with more contemporary and refined details, will further highlight Amfora’s understated luxury, adding a stronger sense of airiness and Mediterranean charm. You can be one of the first to sample the benefits, gaining a 20% discount with early booking here. Or if you are really quick, even more discounts with the Black Friday offer. You can see more photos of the new interiors here.

The 2026 season promises to be perhaps the best yet, with exciting new additions for the American market, with direct flights to Split from New York for the first time. With a speedboat transfer, this means that journey time from the Big Apple to Croatia’s most elite island waterfront will now take just 10 hours – more details here.
