The resort also includes the first 18-hole golf course in Istria.
The Kempinski Hotel Adriatic, near Umag in Istria, has presented its new beach, which is a project in which they invested around 500,000 euro in the past several months, reports Poslovni.hr on June 16, 2018.
Right next to the paved beach, a newly-renovated beach bar is located, with a VIP area on the roof terrace. The resort also includes the Golf Club Adriatic, the first golf course with 18 holes in Istria.
“The hotel has been in existence for about ten years now and it was the right time for investments such as these. They are necessary in order to further develop our business. We plan to upgrade the golf course during the autumn months,” said Tomislav Hrala, the director of sales and marketing at the Kempinski Hotel Adriatic.
According to Nikola Avram, the general manager of the hotel sector at the MK Group, which is the owner of the hotel, they are also open for possible new investments and expansion of business operations in Croatia and Slovenia.
The Kempinski hotel in Istria was open in 2009; it has 165 rooms, 19 suites and 2 presidential suites, and is currently over 70 percent full.
The Mayor of Umag Vili Bassanese welcomed the guests, emphasizing that the town of Umag was always ready for cooperation in order to develop the local economy. The attendees were also welcomed by Dalibor Škvorc, the managing director of Kempinski Hotel Adriatic.
“Plans for the renovation of the beach existed earlier, but the implementation was only started at the beginning of this year. I would like to point out that this is just the first phase of the whole project, and after the summer there will be three more phases. Everything should be completed by 2020. The beach is open to the local population as well,” said Škvorc.
