Tourism in the capital is seeing positive trends as the season gets into full swing

According to the data provided by Zagreb Tourist Board data, the capital of Croatia recorded a 30% increase in arrivals and 32% in overnight stays as compared to June 2016, ZG Magazin reported on July 4.

There were a total of 137,638 arrivals and 244,670 overnight stays. Most tourists came from South Korea, the USA, Germany, China and the United Kingdom, while most overnight stays were recorded among tourists from the USA.

For the period from January to June 2017, there were a total of 532,735 arrivals, which is 19% more than last year, and 961,364 overnight stays, which is 18% more. There was a 23% increase (438,801 arrivals) in foreign tourist arrivals and a 21% increase (790,604) in overnight stays. Most overnight stays during the first six months were made by guests from South Korea, the USA, Germany, Italy and the UK.

City of Zagreb Tourist Board is extremely satisfied with these results, which confirm that Zagreb has become an unavoidable year-round tourist destination.
