Plitvice, Split and Dubrovnik Tourist Video… from 1939

Croatian tourism as it once was. A German tourist video from almost 80 years ago.

Croatia before mass tourism. It must have been an even more idyllic place. 

Some lovely footage by a German family on holiday in 1939, before Europe entered into a very dark period. 

And how interesting that the three selected highlights of the video – Plitvice Lakes, Split and Dubrovnik – all went on to have something rather special in common. Some 40 years later, they would enter the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
