November the 12th, 2024 – There’s plenty to be excited for as we gear up for the festive period, as Pula Advent 2024 is set to put on quite the show indeed for visitors, particularly in the marvellous Roman amphitheatre.
As Morski writes, visitors to Pula Advent 2024 will be able to enjoy previously unseen scenes and unique elements handcrafted exclusively for the new Advent location – Pula Arena. Pula Arena is fascinating in and of itself, given that it is the only Roman amphitheatre with all four of its sides entirely preserved remaining to this day. No longer the sight of bloody gladiator battles in front of audiences, it is now home to festivals and concerts/
Pula Advent is gearing up to be great this year, with the festivities in the arena itself beginning on December the 6th. What is scheduled for Pula Advent 2024 will be an extension of the previous events held in Pula, as well as one of the most scenographically attractive Advents in all of Europe. It can be said without a doubt that it will arouse plenty of interest from visitors from across Croatia, the entire immediate region and beyond.
The Roman amphitheatre, the construction of which began back in 27 BC, will be divided into several themed zones inspired by the rich history of this part of Istria. The unique light installations will include the legend of the fairies, who some believe to “have built” the roofless Pula Arena. There will also be touching elements inspired by the gladiators who fought and died right there on the hot sand during Rome’s rule.
The space will be dominated by a large ice rink on the surface, spanning 600 m² and will be open from December the 6th, 2024 to January the 6th, 2025. From Sunday to Thursday, Pula’s ice rink will be open from 10:00 to 22:00, and on Fridays and Saturdays until 23:00.
Visitors to Pula Advent 2024 will get to see 1,200 m² of snow-covered stone stands on which 111 illuminated Christmas trees will be installed. In order for this unique location to shine in the best possible way this festive season, the organisers plan to additionally illuminate the entire snowy area and with the help of devices to produce a misty effect.
