The Croatian health tourism story is picking up momentum, as more international patients, medical professionals and investors realise its potential. A very international gathering in Zagreb starts tomorrow with the 2nd Adriatic Health and Tourism Investment Forum. Below, the official press release.
The 2nd edition of the Adriatic Health and Tourism Investment Forum will take place from 10 till 12 October 2018 in Zagreb, the Westin Hotel.
The Forum will gather the representatives of the actual health care and health tourism offer – doctors of medicine, hospitals, medical centres, insurance groups, medical companies etc in order to present their services to foreign buyers and tour operators. Also, Medical Group LLC as the initiator and organizer is doing a great effort to secure the presence of hotel industry representatives, and accommodation facilities, spas, rehabilitation centres, health care facilities (dental, plastic, etc.) from Croatia and Adriatic Region countries.
The Forum will officially be opened by Croatian Minister of Tourism Mr Gari Cappelli, on the Day one, Thursday, 11th October in the morning.
The significance of this gathering is precisely to link and connect all the actors that together make actual tourist and health tourism offer.
The topics of the panel discussion will cover also the Senior Tourism with examples of good practices, medical wellness industry as new trends in hotels, workshops for tourist and healthcare professionals etc.
However, the other part of this event is oriented on project presenting since the organizer is eager to upgrade the possibilities for new investments in the sector of health tourism and to participate in building the destination that can be active all year long and to participate as a European Riviera for health tourism.
Businesswise, we reckon the Adriatic Region as one very large potential and future-oriented area and believe that investors from all over the world could find their benefits in having the business developed exactly in the Adriatic countries.
The first edition of AHT Invest Forum went really well. We presented 10 investment projects, had 200+ participants, from the government and county circus, doctors of medicine and medical professionals who already practice health tourism, tourist experts – hotel owners, managers, tour operators, agents, consultants, financial experts from EU and commercial banks, health industry representatives, developers and investors from all over the world and what is most important, one delivered a great investment result – just recently the investor company from the USA – Blackard Global and the project from Croatia-Pasman Riviera met their interest and now they are starting the business collaboration on project worth 500 mil EUROs.
Mr Jeff Blackard confirmed the presence on the 2nd AHT INVEST FORUM as well and will present the further steps in his business in this area.
Besides, more American investment and business representatives confirmed their presence to Forum in order to get introduced with the latest projects opportunities in this area. Mr Rick Santorum, Former US Senator and actual Senior CNN Political Analyst, also businessman interested in the Adriatic Region potentials, DR John Raffetto, Chairman of Ambassador Care and a emeritus figure in the American HMO Movement and the medical management industry, co-founder of American Adriatic Health (AAH) with the headquarters in Washington D.C.
Also, we will have the Qatari, Gulf Region and Chinese investor representatives present.
Moreover, we shall present the content of the ADRIATIC HEALTH TOURISM PLATFORM, the Document launched by the MEDICAL GROUP LLC, that defines the strategic direction of the Adriatic Region development in the sense of healthcare infrastructure, health and tourism sector.
The Platform was sent to EU Commission via Public consultation of Cohesion policy in order to integrate the health tourism industry in the next financial EU framework and to provide the direct money for realisation of health tourism investment projects. The Document consists the detailed programme for 7 countries in the Adriatic Region. The Platform predicts the projects from healthcare infrastructure – new modern hospitals and medical centres of various sizes, also senior resorts and villages, medical wellness centres, new curriculum etc.
After the Consultation was closed, the Platform has been sent to the Prime Ministries, Ministries of Tourism and Ministries of Health of all countries.
Afterwards, we held meetings with all embassies of the countries included in the Document and got very positive reactions.
Now we keep receiving the Letters of Support from the relevant institutions from these countries.
The Platforms is supported by the Croatian Ministry of Tourism, The City of Zagreb, Croatoan Economy Chamber, Montenegro Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, health tourism Clusters from the Adriatic Region etc.
On 11th October, on the first day of Forum, the Platform will be presented to the audience and in an extended format.
In summary, the Forum will present the actual offer of the health tourism projects from the countries within the Adriatic Region, and on the other side project owners and project representatives will showcase and present the investments projects from the tourism, health tourism and healthcare infrastructure that can enlarge and improve the Adriatic Region offer and attract guests.
The AHT Forum is supported by state authorities of all countries in the Adriatic region and until now we have the patronages of Her Madam President of the Republic of Croatia – Mrs Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and crafts, The Ministry of Tourism, and The Ministry of Health.
Also, the Medical Group LLC as the organisers have great support and collaboration with regional clusters of health tourism from the Adriatic region.
We again expect representatives from the USA, Germany, Italy, Austria, Turkey, UK, Belgium, China, Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Albania, Monte Negro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina etc…
