Student’s Video Blog Presents the Secrets of Zagreb

Total Croatia News

A young Zagreb journalist student is opening up the secrets of the city with his new video blog.

Which popular blockbuster was filmed at the National and University Library, where was the first skyscraper in Zagreb built and why aren’t there tram lines number 10 and 16? These are just some of the questions answers to which you can find out in the video blog “Did you know? – Zagreb”. The blog created by Andro Anić attracts a growing number of visitors, and the young author says he will make more videos about Zagreb, reports Vecernji List on November 3, 2015.

“I began to publish the video blog about a month ago, during a college course on the importance of new media. At first, the subject matter was diverse, but then I decided that the main theme will be Zagreb”, says the 21-year-old journalism student who finds his inspiration in everyday life. Thus, in addition to videos about Zagreb, his YouTube channel Lonto’s World includes stories about various types of people, bank tellers and family quarrels. Each video is his own idea, and the goal is to be informative and – entertaining.

“I am mostly interested in shooting videos about Zagreb, because there are a lot of facts that people do not know about their own city. And since Zagreb is becoming ever more popular among tourists, videos like these can be used in marketing as well”, explains Andro who is currently discussing potential cooperation with the Zagreb Tourist Board. He plans to make a video-review of “Zagreb Be There” app, and believes that a whole series of videos about the hidden beauties of Zagreb could be filmed as well. He gathers necessary information from various sources, such as old books about Zagreb, but also from conversations with fellow citizens.

“I live in the Upper Town all my life, but I still discover something new, for example, that there is still a steam bakery in Nova Ves. I believe that such curiosities should be presented to audiences in an interesting and innovative manner”, says the young blogger who promotes Zagreb on various social networks, including Instagram where he publishes artistic images of the city.
