The Scottish Sun Discovers Dubrovnik and Korcula

Total Croatia News

More positive international column inches for southern Dalmatia, as the Scottish Sun raves about the foodie experience in Dubrovnik and on Korcula on May 27, 2018.

It is always interesting to see the raw observations of first-time visitors to Croatia. Having lived here for 15 years, I have become accustomed to much of the local habits and traditions, and I no longer have that sharp observation of seeing something new for the first time.

The recent foodie festival on Korcula, Korculanske Pjatance (the Korcula Spring Food and Wine Festival), not only showcased the very best of the islands gourmet offering in an exciting and very diverse programme, but it also brought with it the insights of British journalists on their first visits to Croatia.

We have already written about renowned British foodie writer, Bill Knott, and his enjoyment of trying the disemvowelled island white of Grk, and I thought he summed up Korcula rather well within an hour of arrival on the Lesic Dimitri terrace:

“An island for grown-ups.”

Also at the festival was a journalist from the Scottish Sun, with his partner. I really enjoyed meeting them both, and they were totally blown away both by the beauty of the island and the outstanding fare.

The article has just come out – another gentle promotion of Dalmatia as a fantastic food and wine destination.
