May the 10th, 2024 – The brand new direct Zagreb-Seoul line will soon begin flying as the Uniline Group continues its promotion of Croatia over on the Asian market.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Asian market is extremely important for Croatian tourism and boasts plenty of potential for further development. Owing to that, representatives of Uniline Group, Croatia’s leading destination management company, spent two weeks in April in China and South Korea.

While there, they held a series of meetings, including meetings with the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Korea, Mr. Damir Kušen, and the leaders of the South Korean airline T’way Air. All of this was done with the aim of better connecting Croatia and Asia,

It bore fruit, as T’way Air is introducing a direct Zagreb-Seoul flight from May the 16th this year, which Zagreb has not had since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. T’way has so far announced three flights a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and A330-300 type aircraft will carry passengers.

“This significant success is the result of many years of discussions, investments in market development and excellent relations between the Uniline Group, the Croatian embassies in China and South Korea, the Ministry of Tourism and Sport and the Croatian Tourist Board with our Asian partners. I’d like to remind you of the importance of this market for Croatian tourism.

Before the pandemic, almost half a million Asian guests visited Croatia each year. Even during the challenging pandemic-dominated period, the Uniline Group maintained its representative offices in distant markets such as these, and we worked intensively on the promotion of Croatia. Among other things, we also advocated for the launch of a direct airline, which will significantly facilitate travel and influence the increase in the number of guest arrivals from all over Asia.” said Boris Žgomba, President of the Management Board of Uniline Group.

The Uniline Group otherwise continuously invests in the promotion of Croatia on the Asian market, and was among the first to recognise the potential of distant markets and established strong partnership relations in China and South Korea. They also have their own representative offices there. A complete recovery of the Asian market and a return to pre-pandemic figures is expected this year, and the new direct Zagreb-Seoul line will undoubtedly facilitate that recovery. Asian guests typically travel throughout the year, and they consider Croatia a desirable and safe destination, and when visiting, they emphasise exploring cultural and natural beauty as among their top activities.
