Earthquakes shook the area near Rijeka.
Two earthquakes were recorded in the area around Rijeka in the afternoon hours, reports Index.hr on August 24, 2017.
The first earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale occurred today at 2.47 P.M. The epicentre of the earthquake was in Jadranovo.
Shortly thereafter, at 4.15 P.M., the Seismological Service of the Republic of Croatia recorded another weak earthquake again with the epicentre in Jadranovo. The second earthquake measured 2.6 on the Richter scale and was classified as of intensity III according to the Mercalli-Cancani-Sieberg scale.
Just two weeks ago, the Rijeka area was hit with a series of earthquakes.
