December the 3rd, 2025 – The giant Croatian tourism company Valamar is investing 245 million euros in its capacities, with a special focus on the Pical resort in Poreč.
As Novac/Jutarnji/Marija Crnjak writes, the Valamar Supervisory Board has approved investments worth 228.1 million euros. Together with the approved investments in Imperial Riviera totalling 17.4 million euros, brings the total investments at the Valamar Group level to an enormous 245.5 million euros.
Valamar’s planned investments throughout 2026 are largely focused on completing the construction of the Pical 5* resort in the Istrian coastal city of Poreč. The massive project is being hailed as the most significant project in Croatian tourism, and the resort itself is finally scheduled to open in the spring of 2026. The investment in the entire Pical zone and all of its accompanying projects is worth a total of around 200 million euros.
Additional approved investments by Valamar for 2026 include the reconstruction of the former Crystal Hotel and Diamant Apartments into the new Sunny Poreč 4* and the renovation of the Valamar Diamant Hotel in the Brulo zone in Poreč.
Valamar’s ambitions plans for 2026 also include the construction of a brand new, modern, energy-efficient and highly automated laundry zone in the Buići business zone in Poreč, invest in the construction of apartments for crucial employees in the very heart of Poreč, and continue investing in the Valfresco Central Kitchen project. Ss the country’s largest tourism company, Valamar is very clearly continuing to invest in sustainable tourism and in engaging in socially responsible business. That goes without even needing to mention digitalisation and improving the quality of the services offered, beaches, and sports facilities across all of their destinations.
The investments of Imperial Riviera, a member of the Valamar Group, are primarily focused on the construction of additional accommodation capacities and new facilities at the Arba Resort on the island of Rab. The total investment value of that project is estimated to stand at a whopping 81.2 million euros. Imperial will additionally invest in the construction of wellness facilities at the Meteor Hotel in beautiful Makarska and in improving the offer on the beaches it manages.
