July the 12th, 2025 – Zadar Airport will soon enjoy year-round flights to Munich, a city that around 50,000 Croats call home.
Croatia Airlines is set to keep the Dalmatian city connected throughout the year with the aforementioned German city, which plenty of Croatian emigrants and their descendants live in.
As Morski writes, Croatia Airlines recently splashed out on new aircraft which are set to arrive throughout the year. The brand new Airbus, aptly named “Zadar” is now joining the renewed Croatia Airlines fleet, and Zadar will enjoy a year-round connection with Munich, as recently announced by the domestic carrier.
At a recently held meeting between Zadar County Prefect Josip Bilaver and Zadar Mayor Šime Erlić with the management of Croatia Airlines, significant steps were agreed for better air connectivity for the popular coastal city.
The official Zadar County Facebook page posted the following: The “Zadar” is joining the Croatia Airlines fleet, and year-round connection with Munich has been announced! This is significant news for the development of tourism and the economy of Zadar County. At the meeting held by Zadar County Prefect Bilaver and Zadar Mayor Erlić with the management of Croatia Airlines, important steps were agreed for better air connectivity.
One novelty is that the next Airbus A220 from the new Croatia Airlines fleet will be named Zadar, which will further promote our city and region throughout Europe! The introduction of the year-round Zadar-Munich air connection for the 2026/2027 season has also been announced, which is extremely important for extending the tourist season and economic development.
Zadar has been connected to Munich during the winter months for the second year in a row, and our goal has always been for a Zadar year-round connection with Munich. In addition to the existing flights, as well as strategically important projects such as the new passenger terminal of Zadar Airport and the Port of Gaženica, Zadar County is becoming even more accessible and attractive.
For Zadar, year-round air connectivity with Munich will start from the 2026/2027 season.
