zagreb classic 2026

June the 3rd, 2026 – The popular Zagreb Classic is soon set to return to the capital for its 2026 edition later this month and spanning into the beginning of July.

Organised by the Zagreb Tourist Board (TZGZ), the City of Zagreb and partners, Zagreb Classic 2026 will take place from the 19th of June to the 3rd of July at King Tomislav Square, offering audiences the opportunity to enjoy outstanding open-air classical music concerts totally free of charge.

This year’s edition of the festival opens on Friday, the 19th of June at 21:00, with a live broadcast on Croatian Radio-television (HRT). The honor of opening the festival has been entrusted to a collaboration between the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and Iranian pianist Ramin Bahrami, one of the world’s most acclaimed interpreters of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. The concert entitled Bahrami Plays Bach will be conducted by Dawid Runtz.

Martina Bienenfeld, head of the Zagreb Tourist Board, stated the following: I’m delighted to invite all our fellow citizens and visitors to join us at Zagreb Classic, which once again brings an exceptional open-air programme featuring leading artists from Croatia and around the world.

I’d particularly like to highlight this year’s celebration of World Music Day on the 21st of June, when audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy two concerts. For the first time, a programme for children will be held at the Music Pavilion in Zrinjevac Park featuring Italy’s Playtoy Orchestra, while later that evening King Tomislav Square will host the concert Bach is in the Air with two outstanding pianists – Ramin Bahrami and Danilo Rea. Over nine festival evenings, audiences will also be able to enjoy performances by other world-class soloists including pianist Polina Osetinskaya, accordion ambassador Richard Galliano, violinist Liya Petrova, trumpet virtuoso Matilda Lloyd, and American opera stars Erin Morley and Lawrence Brownlee, reaffirming Zagreb Classic as one of the most important open-air music events in this part of Europe.”

This year’s programme offers a wide range of musical expression, from major symphonic works and opera gala evenings to musicals, jazz and tango. The festival stage will also welcome the Croatian Radio-television Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra and Choir of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, and the ensemble of Zagreb City Theatre Komedija.

All concert programmes are scheduled to begin at 21:00, while the children’s programme at Zrinjevac starts at 19:00. The full programme for the Zagreb Classic event for 2026 is available here, as well as in programme booklets available at Zagreb Tourist Board Visitor Centres. In the event of adverse weather conditions, concerts will, where possible, be rescheduled or cancelled.
