November the 16th, 2024 – The Zagreb Pullman hotel is now open for visitors as the brand eyes business travellers and coins the Croatian capital “somewhat undiscovered”.
As Ana Roksandic/Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the first Pullman hotel in the Republic of Croatia was opened in Zagreb on Thursday. The move was made in cooperation between the global hotel group Accor and the company MPDD.
Pullman is a very well known brand with premium hotels in numerous global destinations such as Paris, Singapore and the Maldives. In addition to 193 rooms, guests have access to numerous premium amenities, including a wellness area with two saunas and a modern fitness centre at the new Zagreb Pullman hotel. Given that Zagreb has become known for congress tourism, it’s important to emphasise the conference capacity, where guests have access to halls with up to 150 seats.
Aiden McAuley, Accor’s COO for hotels in Europe and North Africa, explained why the bustling Croatian capital was chosen for the first Croatian location of this premium brand.
“We see a great opportunity in Zagreb. This is a somewhat undiscovered city, with fantastic culture and history, and people want to experience and see something new. They want to travel to places that are perhaps not too hyped up or traditionally very visited. I believe that Zagreb has a lot to offer guests like this, and that’s precisely why we decided to bring Pullman, one of our premium brands, right here to Zagreb,” said McAuley.
The brand new Zagreb Pullman hotel is otherwise being managed in cooperation with the fast-growing company MPPD, which is focused on the development and management of hotels across Southeastern Europe. This is the second hotel in Croatia that the company MPPD has opened, after the opening of the Mövenpick hotel back in 2022, also in Zagreb.
“We’re extremely proud of the final result, Pullman is a brand that sets a new travel standard by providing an exceptional experience to business travellers. MPPD has an ambitious strategy to expand their portfolio to more than 2,500 hotel rooms by 2029. Our multidisciplinary team with many years of experience in development, hospitality and finance positions the company as a key player in the region. The opening of the new Zagreb Pullman hotel only confirms this strategy and our determination to improve the hotel offer in this part of Europe. We want to do that by providing high standards and experiences to our guests through an internationally recognised brand”, commented Janko Vrgoč, a partner in MPPD.
Pullman Hotels & Resorts has otherwise been setting a new standard in global travel and lifestyle, providing an inspiring experience for new business travellers for over 150 years.
“When we worked together on Mövenpick, the team from MPPD was already thinking about this location as well. It’s important to us that we’re surrounded by business offices, and with a future potential congress centre. This was the perfect opportunity for us to build an excellent Pullman hotel here. We have a hotel that perfectly reflects what the entire Pullman brand stands for,” said McAuley.
Currently, this chain is the world’s leading sustainable premium brand that offers productive work spaces, but also places an emphasis on leisure and socialising. Present at more than 155 locations globally, it is now also available in Zagreb in the business centre of Novi Zagreb. Novi Zagreb is a location that offers guests close proximity to the airport, excellent traffic connections to the heart of the city, and many business, entertainment and shopping facilities can be found nearby.
