April the 7th, 2025 – The Zagreb Thompson concert scheduled for July this year has sold an incredible 500,000 tickets, a truly historic event.

Marko Perković Thompson is a name well known to all who follow Croatian music, but his Zagreb concert on the cards for this summer has seen his name reach far beyond the borders of Croatia. He even has the Times of Israel referring to him as a “Nazi sympathiser”, a title likely unsurprising to read from this source for many.

The Zagreb Thompson concert is set for the 5th of July at the capital’s hippodrome, and was officially sold out on April the 3rd according to the ticket agent, Entrio. Owing to the fact that the Zagreb Thompson concert isn’t being performed as part of a festival, it was known even before the 500,000 ticket mark that it would break a world record.

Despite being a controversial figure, Marko Perković Thompson has fans from almost 50 countries worldwide, and is known for his patriotic songs and love of Croatia.

“Dear friends, we have had many great and emotional concerts together, enjoyed being together hundreds of times, and even shed a tear. You have been with me in both joy and sorrow, but… this time you have truly surprised me, and immensely so! Without you, this would not have been possible! I have the most loyal fans and audience in the world!” he wrote.

As Index magazine writes, as a quick reminder, last week, 281,744 tickets for the Zagreb Thompson concert in July were sold. This Thursday, between 12:00 and 18:00, more specifically in the first six hours since tickets went on sale, 150,000 of them were sold. Tens of thousands of people waited in a virtual waiting room on the Entrio website, and crowds formed outside stores across the country.

As stated above, Thompson actually broke the world record last week for the most tickets sold for a solo concert, which was previously held by Vasco Rossi. The Italian singer held the largest paid solo concert in the world in Modena back in 2017, which attracted over 225,000 people. Thompson has well and truly broken that record, with the number of tickets sold having reached half a million.

a new song

In the wake of this astonishing level of success for the upcoming Zagreb Thompson concert and the singer behind it, a new song has been released.
