Croatia, the land of a thousand islands and a stunning endless Adriatic coastline, both of which are littered with spectacular historic stone towns, which add to the region’s charm and majesty.

But the charm of Croatia’s old towns is not limited just to the Adriatic – there are real gems to be found all over the country. 

Few can beat the magic of the old town of Varazdin, a delightfully compact and supremely well-preserved old town, just one hour from Zagreb, whose most famous building, Varazdin Castle (and Museum) is accessible just metres from the squares of the delightful squares of the centre.
