The Croatian Theatre of Dreams: Poljud

If Old Trafford is Manchester’s Theatre of Dreams, then surely the Poljud Stadium, home of Hajduk Split, is the Dalmatian equivalent.

With an atmosphere on matchday to rival anywhere in Europe, the antics of Torcida make it the most intimidating ground in Croatia for away teams to visit. 

Built in 1979 for the Mediterranean Games, football is the main activity at Poljud, but it is also an increasingly popular concert venue, including the annual Ultra Europe festival every July.
