Pošip Milan 2015 is a finely balanced white wine which, in texture, unites creaminess (the wine is kept for half a year in large barrels) and remarkable freshness. Milan’s Pošip is flowery on the nose – fruity, with some green, herbal elements, while very fruity in taste, making it different than many island Pošips. Red apples and pears are the main taste elements. Apples are felt in the after for a long time, which does have a slightly salty, mineral character.
But with Milan’s Pošip the most important is the perfect balance of all of its elements. It is a very serious, elegant, character wine, showing the potential of specific land areas of Dalmatia in terms of white varieties: this Pošip is definitely one of the best Dalmatian non-island white wines. We truly hope some of the ten thousand bottles will make it soon to Zagreb. We don’t remember seeing his wines on wine charts of Zagreb restaurants.
Gastronomy recommendation: Although we tried it with small fish, which it went very well with, we believe Milan’s Pošip and its medium sized body and optimal combination of creaminess and freshness, can go well with noble white fish, large crabs, fried chicken and classic white sauces such a beurre blanco and chanterelle and boletus in cream.
