Just a few days after the en primeur tasting of malvazija and žlahtina which will take place in Esplanade hotel in Zagreb, as we have already announced, another en primeur tasting will be held in Zagreb.

It will be the tasting of different varieties, graševina, pošip and “other varieties”.

It will be held in a different hotel – hotel Westin in Zagreb.

It will be organized by the Winemakers Guild of Croatian Chamber of Economy, Graševina Croatica Association, Wines of Dalmatia Association and Hilly Croatia Association, and held for the sixth time.

“Other varieties” mentioned are the ones being produced along with graševina and pošip in the regions presented on the tasting. So, sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio and chardonnay will probably seen more often by the winemakers from Slavonia. Dalmatians will present their debit, rukatac, grk, kujundžuša and bogdanuša along with the main star, pošip. Hilly Croatia Association represents winemakers from the regions in Central Croatia, Moslavina, Prigorje-Bilogora, Zagorje, Međimurje and Plešivica. Their wineries will present their graševina, as well as other indigenous varieties such as škrlet, pušipel, kraljevina, and some not indigenous: chardonnay, rhein riesling and sauvignon blanc. Additionally, some red wines from 2015 vintage that are now ready to be put on the market will be presented.

Last year over 50 winemakers participated at the tasting, and that is also the current number of confirmed participating winemakers. The organizers hope that the final number will be somewhat bigger.

The public is invited to participate in the tasting in the afternoon: 12 – 3pm timeslot is reserved for journalists, professionals and other invited guests, and 3pm until 7pm is dedicated to those who love great wine and want to taste young wines as soon as possible. The entrance fee (and the tasting glass) will cost 50 kn.
