In a setting of a typical Istrian village, as you taste some of his famous labels like Alba or Grimalda, learn about the hard work that goes into a bottle of wine, as well as the winemaker’s signature.
Then, enjoy the mesmerizing sceneries of the Lim canal as you drive towards the spectacular Meneghetti estate. Set amidst vineyards and olive groves, Meneghetti’s is one of the finest Croatian gourmet retreats, a historic Istrian estate. After enjoying a tasting of the famous vintages of their Menghetti Red and White, indulge in an intriguing, four course wine paired lunch menu, served on a backdrop of a typical Istrian landscape.
Ivica Matošević represents the new breed of Croatian winemakers, without winemaking pedigrees or centuries-old family traditions. He took a sharp turn in life when he turned his passion for wine to act, and literally started from the scratch. He calls it ‘one of the best rock’n’roll decisions he’s ever made’. Today, Matošević produces around 75.000 bottles from vineyards located at the site of Brdo in central Istria, which he personally discovered after a lengthy quest. Malvazia is his favorite and his signature, but his Grimalda line of white and red blends has been repeatedly awarded the bronze medal by the Decanter.
