The Croatian wine story is gaining ground in North America these days, and a lot of it is due to the pioneers of Croatian wine promotion State-side, who have been slowly but steadily pushing the message of Croatian wine across the continent. From Cliff Rames and his excellent pioneering blog Wines of Croatia in New York, to the excellent team at Blue Danube successfully selling wine in the heart of Zinfandel country, California, Croatia’s wine industry has much to be grateful for to these energetic individuals.
And sometimes they come together to tour the vineyards of Croatia together…
Earlier this year, several members of the Blue Danube team, accompanied by Cliff, TCW’s Zdravko and Marion Podolski and food writer Marcy Gordon, descended on Dalmatia for a thorough tour of the region’s vineyards. It was a pleasure to meet them in Jelsa and accompany them to the vineyards of Teo Huljic and Andro Tomic, and Marcy has just uploaded a great video collection of photos of the trip. Looks fantastic!
