Father and son team Luka and Bruno Elezović opened a wine bar in Hvar in 2014, set in the heart of old town of Hvar. The bar, called Red Red Wine Bar Hvar offers a very comprehensive wine list, featuring some of the best wines from Hvar and Dalmatia, but also from all over Croatia. You will enjoy the intimate atmosphere of our retro-style decorated wine bar, located in a peaceful stone street, only a few steps away from the very busy town centre. Wine list in the bar includes over 150 labels, of which at least 50 are available by the glass.
Hvar is one of the key tourist locations in Croatia, and enjoying wine there makes a lot of sense, since Hvar is proud of its 2400 years of uninterrupted wine production and over 2700 hours of sunshine per year. However, as anyone who knows anything about the tourism in Croatia knows that the tourist season is quite short and that the autumn/winter months can be quite dull on the islands, so the father/son team decided to open another wine bar, in a city much livelier during the winter months. And, not quite surprisingly, the second bar is called Red Red Wine Bar Zagreb, and is located near the centre of Zagreb, in a basement on a busy street.
Zagreb Bar was opened in early 2016, and has already made a name for itself on Zagreb’s quite busy wine scene, setting itself apart among other things with decoration and dedication to music. It’s all soul, funk, some rock music, mostly for somewhat younger crowd, also coming to the bar for the live music and that happens in Red Red Wine Bar Zagreb quite often. The kitchen has not fully started as it was planned, but still you won’t be hungry for your glass of wine: various cheese and pršut platters from various regions, canapés, cod and goose liver pate and steak tartare. As for the wines, the bar offers over 50 labels of Croatian wines, most of them by the glass, and at very affordable prices.
In addition to music, the bar organises various wine-themed events, such as wine tastings, wine-producer promotions, Monday jazz nights and good old-fashioned disco nights on Saturdays.
