More coalition discussions ahrad of the Croatian parliamentary elections.

President of the Croatian Conservative Party (HKS) Ruža Tomašić said on Friday that she has discussed a possible coalition with representatives of the veterans who are protesting in the Savska Street in Zagreb, Đuro Glogoški and Josip Klemm, and that her party has moved the deadline for signing the coalition agreement to the end of September, reports Novi List on September 11, 2015.

“We have talked about a possible coalition with the veterans’ leaders Đuro Glogoški and Josip Klemm and I hope they will join us. The talks will continue”, said Tomašić after an informal meeting with the leaders of the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) and the Family Party, Daniel Srb and Mato Knezović.

The leaders of HKS, HSP and the Family Party have confirmed in late August that they are negotiating a possible right-wing coalition. Tomašić said they still had not received definite answers from the leaders of the Croatian Dawn party Milan Kujundžić and the “U Ime Obitelji” association Željka Markić whether they will join their coalition. “We have decided to extend the deadline to the end of September and then we will sign the coalition agreement”, she added.

Tomašić also said that, according to information from the field, their coalition could be supported by those voters who do not want to give their vote to SDP or HDZ and would otherwise probably abstain from the elections. She added that according to the results of a poll conducted in Split, Osijek, Vukovar, Zagreb, Šibenik and Zadar, her coalition could win about nine seats in the parliament at the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The HKS president said that, after the election, it would be much more acceptable for them to cooperate with HDZ’s Patriotic Coalition, but that will not happen unconditionally. “We want to demonstrate to people that it is possible to conduct political activities in the parliament in an honest way”, she concluded.
