Fire near Šibenik bridge caused power outage in Zaton, Vodice and Murter
Just when we thought fire season is behind us, prolonged summer and high temperatures are causing havoc again. Earlier today a large fire broke out at Sv. Vid near the Šibenik bridge, while an ven larger fire broke out on island Ugljan near Mali and Veli Lukoran.
According to the commander of the Zadar fire department Željko Šoša, fire was seriously threatening but thanks to the great effort from volunteer fire fighters from Preko and Pašman, two air tractors and two Canadairs, they are safe now.
Smoke is visible all the way from Zadar and we hope the situation will be under control by nightfall.
